Robins

For the past week, every time I step outside, a robin flies up to me with a worm in it’s mouth and sits there looking at me until I go back inside. They come right up to me and sit on the porch railing. So I looked up robin as a spirit animal, and this is what it said:

Explore the far reaches of your consciousness and you will explore your connection to all else that is. As you point your attention on the things you hear and see and smell and touch, you miss out on the other perceptions that seem to fall between these.

We are Robin. We see the predators who chase us, we hear the call of a mate, we feel the presence of a worm under the sod. But beyond all of these, we know our connection to all other Robin, all other Bird, All That Is. We know our place in the Universe.

We see between the things we see, feel the spaces between. Our awareness encompasses all that we do not perceive as well as all that we perceive. And this gives us a clearer picture of who we are. We are Robin. Be like us.

Amazing considering the spiritual experiences I’ve been having the past week. I know, I know, I’m a kook :)

I want to live in Hay-On-Wye, Wales!

It is home to 1,500 people, and 40 used bookstores. That’s the place for me. I’d be in
my glory.

I who am the beauty of the green earth,
and the white moon among the stars,
and the mystery of the waters,
call unto thy soul:
Arise, and come unto me.
For I am the soul of nature, who gives life to the universe.
From Me all things proceed,
and unto Me all things must return;
and before My face, beloved of gods and of men,
let thine innermost divine self be
enfolded in the rapture of the infinite.
Let My worship be within the heart that rejoices;
for behold, all acts of love and pleasure are My rituals.

I really hate my mother sometimes. It’s hard to have a mother who is mentally ill. It lets her use it as an excuse for bad behavior. “I did that? I don’t remember…” She just calls me up and blasts so much negative crap at me. It’s like I can feel this black energy shooting over the phone lines into me. She’s an energy vampire. Ugh.

Mother’s Day was great. We went to the horse races, then to the drumming circle. Madeline had a great time at both. She liked watching the horses thunder by, and she loved banging on these bells at the circle.

I wish I had gone to Sin City, sounds like fun was had by all. Next month!!

Blah

I’m tired. I’m cranky. I’m restless. I’m bored.

On the plus side, I got a djembe today for Mother’s Day. I’m in love! If you don’t know, it’s an african hand drum. :)

Tomorrow we’re going to the horse races with the family, then to the drumming circle to try my new baby out!

Ahhhhh!!!

I am a baking maniac today. I’ve made 2 loaves of french bread, strawberry muffins, and banana bread. Yummm.

I have no idea whats happened to me, I’ve become so domesticated. It’s so far from who I used to be. Cook? Never! I lived on takeout and frozen food. Bake? *laughs hysterically* Clean? Only when forced. Pay bills on time? Hah! Ok, well I’m still working on that one ;)

Now I happily putter around my house, I’m learning to sew and bake, I’m an excellent cook, I have a cleaning schedule, etc etc. Yikes. This is scary. I guess it’s because since I’m home with Madeline I have to have control over something, and that something right now is my house. I’ve also turned into a craft nut. These are the projects I currently have on the go:

Sewing
A hand embroidered Christmas stocking for next year
A dollhouse for when she’s older
2 needlepoint canvases
15 ancient photo albums from 1880-1950 to categorize and scrapbook
Making my own bath products
An antique rocking chair to restore

Will the aliens who nabbed the real Jennifer please return her…thanks. :)
