Angel Serenade
Angel Serenade
Outside the open window the morning air is all awash with angels - Richard Wilbur
I stand at the window,
waiting for the sun to rise.
my shattered body held together
with a thousand beads of glue,
I stand stiffly,
carefully,
as if a stray breeze might
shatter this broken self
into a million pieces.
The first rays of the sun
shine through the open window,
illuminating the pieces of my puzzle.
The morning breeze flows
through my hollow self,
filling the empty spaces.
My eyes open to the Ange;s
who dance and sing
on the beams of light,
their voices travelling as
clear notes of sound washing over me
transforming my beads of glue
into rivers of molten gold
as they elevate me to pure transcendence,
the universe flowing together.
I am whole.
